Latest ‘IT’ Promo Features New Footage and Stephen King Reaction

Stephen King’s IT is one of most anticipated movies of the fall season, and in the new featurette above, you can get a look at new footage from the film, along with a ringing endorsement of this adaptation from Stephen King himself!

The featurette is titled ‘Face Your Fears’ and helps to explain at little more of the lore behind Stephen King’s IT novel and characters. If you don’t already know, the general gist of the story is that every twenty-seven years, an evil entity returns to the town of Derry, to terrorize and kill the children there.

This entity appears often appears in the guise of Pennywise The Dancing Clown, and loves nothing more manifesting kids’ worst fears, before it kills them. A band of misfits known as “The Losers Club” set out to confront and kill Pennywise, by helping each other conquer their respective fears.

This set up has allowed director Andy Muschietti (Mama) to really give the film some strong visual concepts and scares, as Pennywise makes the impossible horrors horrifically real for the kids of The losers club. It’s just one reason that IT looks to be one of the more superior horror adaptations around, as well as more evidence that Muschietti might be one of the new masters of the genre.

IT will be in theaters on September 8th.
