One of the more surprisingly horrifying films of 2014 was Creep, which starred Mark Duplass, known for his more comedic roles. The film didn't become a huge success in its theatrical run, but after debuting on Netflix, it grew a massive following. The Orchard has announced that the sequel, Creep 2, will debut on digital platforms on October 24.

Creep 2 stars Desiree Akhavan as Sara, a video artist whose primary focus is creating intimacy with lonely men. After finding an ad online for "video work" she thinks she may have found the subject of her dreams. She drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man claiming to be a serial killer (Duplass). Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him. However, as the day goes on she discovers she may have dug herself into a hole she can't escape.

The film was written by Duplass and Patrick Brice, who wrote and starred in the first Creep.

"We are overjoyed to bring the next chapter of Creep into the world!" Brice explained. "The fact that audiences have embraced the first film in such an unexpected way has been so heartening. We hope Creep 2 with bring a new level of fear, discomfort and joy to loyal fans and newcomers alike."

Creep 2 is slated to hit Netflix before the end of the year, ensuring that the film can be seen by as many viewers as possible.

The initial film had a similar premise, with Brice playing a videographer replying to an ad that sounded innocuous. Brice's character was to document everything Duplass' character did throughout the day, as he had a terminal disease and wanted the video to be shown to his unborn child. Duplass' character's behaviors become erratic throughout the day, leading the audience to question whether or not the whole endeavor was innocent or a nefarious scheme, with the film waiting until the very final moments to reveal his true intentions.

Creep is currently streaming on Netflix.
