Stranger Things, the new hit sci-fi series from the Duffer brothers, took over Netflix this past summer. So much, that fans and even the cast are coming up with their own theories on what's going on in the overly bizzare show.

While Season 2 is currently filming, the first season left us with plenty of burning questions that sometimes keep us awake at night, especially since the finale ended with a gooey slug creature (from the Upside Down) crawling out of Will's mouth, Eleven missing, and Chief Hopper getting whisked away by the bad guys.

In a recent interview with THR the Duffer brothers responded to fan theories while discussing how important the first Season 2 teaser is:

"Even if they aren't the final chapter titles, everything in that teaser is major. But they're ambiguous enough that no one is going to be able to figure it out. Some of the fan theories online are amazing. Most are wrong, but I've read a few that are right or very close. Is it Reddit? Some of those people have figured stuff out based off of the chapter titles."

"Some of these theories are elaborate and smart. They're not crap. I love reading this stuff."

The teaser trailer, that you can watch here, revealed the titles of each new episode and officially announced the show's renewal. Some were rather revealing, but others are still a total mystery.

The first season, set in the '80s, followed the thrilling adventures of four kids including a telekinetic girl who are trying to find their lost friend, Will (who was hiding in an alternate reality called the Upside Down from a horrible monster). Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and Will's mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) join in on the rescue mission.

Stranger Things Season 2, which promises to get "next-level" crazy will take place during the fall of 1984 and debut sometime in 2017.
