Emilia Clarke Wants To Play Female James Bond

James Bond

So that James Bond is popular isn't he?

If Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke (who plays the stunning Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO show) has her way, that he will soon be a she named Jane Bond. Clarke is just the latest to throw her hat into the ring for the much-coveted part (to everyone except current Bond Daniel Craig evidently), and she let the press know in an interview with the Dailystar.co.uk.

"I would love to play Jane Bond. My ultimate leading man would be Leonardo DiCaprio. No doubt about it."

Other actors and actresses who have expressed interest in the iconic British agent are Tom Hiddleston (Thor: Ragnarok, The Night Manager), Gillian Anderson (X-Files, Viceroy's House), Idris Elba (Thor: Ragnarok, The Dark Tower), and Aiden Turner (The Secret Scripture, Look Away) . Clarke is also debuting in her first film, Me Before You.

A female James Bond certainly sounds like an intriguing proposition, and it certainly would set itself apart from the Daniel Craig era of Bond if it were to follow that path. The good news is that all of the people mentioned so far have great acting chops, and I could see any of them doing something interesting with the role.

All of this, of course, depends on if Daniel Craig actually vacates the role, but his own words heavily point towards that direction.
