Amber Portwood Wants to Repair Her Friendship With Farrah Abraham

Amber Portwood is ready to put the past behind her and rekindle her friendship with Teen Mom OG co-star Farrah Abraham.

The MTV personality revealed to E! News that she is “ready” to give their relationship another try.

After Portwood said Abraham has a “very strong mind and strong opinions,” she added, “So do I. So I think it’s natural for us to clash. Plus, she’s crazy.”

“We used to be friends,” Portwood continued. “But, I don’t know what happened. I think she did things for publicity. I still love her to death. She knows that.”

Despite their tumultuous friendship, Portwood is ready to “let everything go.”

“With her, it’s on her terms,” Portwood continued. “I’m not really putting any effort into it or thinking about it.”

This is a major step for Portwood, as Abraham sent the mother of one a cease and desist letter just a few months ago. As Teen Mom OG fans know, their friendship hasn’t been easy.

The ‘Teen Mom OG’ Reunion Fight

Portwood and Abraham may have had their differences over the years, but the turmoil came to a head during the MTV show’s reunion last December. In an attempt to defend her then-fiancé Matt Baier, she took a swing at Abraham on set.

“Just because somebody’s 20 years older than you doesn’t mean he’s a f—ing pedophile,” yelled Portwood, getting in Abraham’s face. “Shut your f—ing mouth, do you understand me? Shut your f—ing mouth.” 

Their fight escalated as Baier and Abraham’s dad Michael got involved. Security had to stop the altercation, which made headlines for weeks to follow.

Portwood took to Twitter after the fight to address her fans.

“Well, this was an interesting night … always sending love not hate because you never know what hate can bring your way,” tweeted Portwood, before adding: “If I was going out there to hit her than I would have. Just wanted her to say it to my face and of course, she didn’t … let’s be honest.”

The Sex Tape Drama

A few months later, Abraham slammed Portwood and Baier for their sex tape offer.

Portwood was a vocal critic when Abraham released her own sextape, Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom, in 2013. The irony was not lost on Abraham, who slammed the 27-year-old’s and Baier’s plans in a statement released to the press.

“So see why they hope to follow in footsteps of mine, the envy of them wanting to be me never fails, as I see it copying and following in my footsteps is a little old — like Matt is,” she said. “As Amber has enough mental issues and body issues, I doubt doing a sex tape at [27] is in the right direction. Her surgery didn’t work. Good luck to Vivid [Entertainment] and Matt and Amber, as I see all their drama and fake set up press is really not entertaining and cries to wish they were famous.”

Abraham believes her co-stars were simply trying to copy her own sex tape fiasco, which raised her celebrity profile when it was released.

“It’s sad how hard Amber tries to be me,” Abraham said. “Matt the conman who doesn’t even like her and is trying to pimp her out to get money for himself. This is all sad. Amber is a washed up felon.”

The Cease and Desist Letter

A few weeks later, Abraham followed up her remarks by sending Portwood and Baier a cease and desist letter.

“I mean, I don’t give a s–t about either [Amber or Matt], and I’m sick of them trying to be like me. They’re obsessed with me,” she claimed. “I sent them a cease and desist so they need to leave me out of their books, out of their interviews, and I don’t want anything to do with them.”

Abraham claims that the couple is “just jealous or envious” of her. “I’ve tried to be friends with them over the years, and I’m just not anymore. And it’s just unhealthy,” she told Us Weekly.

The letter requests that Portwood end interaction and communication with Abraham regarding “false and defamatory statements” made to the media.

The document also claims that Portwood physically harassed Abraham in at least two occasions, including at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Speaking exclusively with E! News, Portwood responded to rumors of a letter.

“Not only am I unaware of any cease and desist being sent, it’s also rather unnecessary,” Portwood says. “I have no interest in discussing Farrah or having any dialogue with her or her legal team. I’d strongly prefer she keep my name out of her mouth altogether.”

Debra Danielson Invites Amber Portwood to Her Wedding

To make matters worse, it appears Abraham’s mom Debra Danielsen has invited Portwood to her upcoming wedding, but possibly not her own daughter.

Portwood revealed that she was invited to Danielsen’s wedding, despite her bad relationship with Abraham.

Portwood doesn’t know if Abraham has received an invitation to the nuptials, but she did confirm her own RSVP.

“Oh, absolutely,” Portwood shared to E! News when asked if she would attend the wedding. “Me and Debra are actually really close. She’s bought clothes from my boutique and has been really supportive.”
