Carrie Fisher sadly passed away this past December, but the legacy of the iconic actress lives on.
The 2017 Emmy nominations were unveiled on Thursday morning, honoring the outstanding work of the television industry. While known for her work in film, particularly in the Star Wars franchise, Fisher earned one of the coveted Emmy nominations.

Fisher’s name was called in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Catastrophe.

Since 2015, Fisher has recurred as Mia on the Amazon original comedy. Her character is the mother of creator/producer/star Rob Delaney’s character Rob Norris, who moves to Europe after getting a woman named Sharon Morris (Sharon Hogan) pregnant.
Fisher is up against some stiff competition for the award. The other nominees include Becky Ann Baker (Girls), Angela Bassett (Master of None), Melissa McCarthey (Saturday Night Live), Wanda Sykes (black-ish), and Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live).

This is the third time Carrie Fisher has been nominated for a primetime Emmy award. She earned a nomination in 2011 for Wishful Drinking, and received a nod in 2008 for her guest appearance on 30 Rock.
