Vice President Joe Biden will soon make a special guest appearance on the small screen for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. According to Biden's public schedule, he will be doing filming for the popular franchise on Friday.
The schedule reads, “While in New York, the Vice President will tape an appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on the rape kit backlog and efforts to end violence against women."
Biden will reportedly appear as himself in a news conference for an episode scheduled to air this fall. Also, it is worth noting that he has been an outspoken champion on the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Vice President even introduced Lady Gaga's performance of the Academy award nominated best original song "Til It Happens to You" at the Oscars, which contained a powerful message regarding the issue of campus rape.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor Ice-T, who portrays NYPD Detective Odafin Tutuola, tweeted a photo of Biden on set with co-star Mariska Hargitay. The tweet was posted with the caption: "Joe is in the Building...SVU."

While Biden has previously made cameos on NBC comedy "Parks and Recreation," this will be Biden's first appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The long-running NBC police crime drama was recently renewed for an 18th season in February.
