Three-time Oscar Winner Meryl Streep can now add another role to her long list of infamous characters…Donald Trump. Streep portrayed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for a parody performance at the Delacourte Theater of the Public Theater Gala in New York City. Streep emulated Trump’s signature look complete with the uniquely coiffed hairdo, fake belly, bronzing self tanner, and suit with red tie.
Alongside Streep, actress Christine Baranski stepped into the shoes of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton. Streep and Baranski previously appeared together in 2008’s Mamma Mia!

The duo of Streep and Baranski delivered the satirical performance to the tune of Cole Porter’s “Kiss Me Kate.” Imitating Trump’s delivery, Streep sang the line, “You’ll let me know why it is all the women say no” poking fun at Trump’s generally unfavorable polling numbers with women. Baranski answered by delivering lines, “Brush up on your Shakespeare and the women you will wow. Just declaim a few lines of Othello, and they’ll think you’re a hell of a fella.”
Audience member, Jack Moore (@JackPMoore), posted photos of Streep and Baranski during the performance along with the caption: “Meryl Streep dressed up like Donald Trump tonight and Christine Baranski loved it. Sometimes the world is perfect.”
The performance came on the same night Hillary Clinton historically became the first female to secure a presidential bid of a major party. Meryl Streep has been open about her support of Hillary Clinton but it is her hilarious Donald Trump impression that has the Internet going crazy.
