Dean Ambrose Must Turn on Seth Rollins
How closely are you following the current story WWE is weaving between Seth Rollins and Dean [...]
Unlock Dean Ambrose
Watching Dean Ambrose operate under WWE's PG Era is like watching a hyena in captivity. He wants to be a savage, but his world will not allow it. The fact that he's been a babyface only makes this worse. So here we have this guy that's supposed to be legitimately crazy, but he needs to keep it PG and make sure he appeals the children? That's just bad chemistry.
As a bad guy, Dean really gets to be crazy. This is great! Right now the most unhinged Ambrose can get is to do something spontaneous. Not to mention, heel Ambrose will get rid of the much-maligned rebound clothesline. When Dean switches to the Dark Side, he can do horribly violent things, I mean, imagine Cactus Jack in the PG Era.
We all forget that Ambrose is a former WWE Champion. If he can go to the top of the company in an unnatural character, how far can he go playing himself?
prevnextSeth Rollins Needs Help
If you haven't noticed, WWE is trying Seth Rollins out as a babyface. So far, it's been just OK. Rollins as a traditional babyface feels starkly unnatural, but WWE is dedicated to this experiment. To help a such an instinctual heel get over as a babyface WWE will have to use its creative staff well, and it starts with Dean Ambrose turning on Rollins.
For Seth to work so hard to redeem himself to Ambrose, finally garnering his trust only be to be stabbed in the back is a great way to make fans empathize with Rollins.

But Seth's babyface bolstering doesn't stop there. WWE has already laid the ground work for him to enter a feud with the top heel in the company, the Miz.
The Intercontinental Champion is so good at being hated, that fans will have no choice but to get behind the budding babyface, Rollins. If Seth can't convince us after being betrayed by Ambrose and belittled by Miz, then he simply doesn't have babyface chops.
prevnextBecause Roman Reigns Never Will
Sure, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will likely have much more installments in their rivalry. But their future feuds will be over championships not the dramatic betrayal of Reigns on Rollins.

Reigns is simply in a different stratosphere than everyone in WWE minus John Cena and Brock Lesnar, of course. It's hard to visualize WWE going out of their way to concoct a story that takes months to develop and the kicker being Reigns turning on Rollins.
Dean double-crossing Rollins is quite the juicy upper-midcard storyline that could turn either of them into actual stars. Plus for Roman, how can you turn heel when you are already one?
prevnextLong Form Storytelling Is So In Right Now
After taking April-June off, WWE has finally taken control of the steering wheel. We almost collided with an 18-wheeler, but before fans could jump to Lucha Underground or something else, WWE has returned to active storytelling. Need examples?

Then here.
And here.
The point is, WWE's creative is awake. And to that point, the story between Rollins and Ambrose goes back three years. It can go so much further too, we just need a little help from a revenge seeking Ambrose.
