Over the past twenty-seven seasons, The Simpsons has always come up with new and inventive Couch Gags, the running visual joke in the show’s opening sequence. Some of the more memorable ones have paid tribute to popular movies and other television shows, such as The Hobbit, Frozen, and Rick and Morty.

For its twenty-eighth season premiere, which airs this Sunday, the Couch Gag parodies Adventure Time, the Emmy Award-winning animated original series from Cartoon Network. In it, we see The Simpsons’ characters drawn to resemble the inhabitants of the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, featuring Bart as Finn and Homer as Finn’s best friend and adoptive brother Jake, a dog with magical powers.
