There is no shortage of money in the Republican party, but it seems they’re having a hard time lately finding people to give it to. Actually, scratch that. They know who to give it to, they just can’t find anyone willing to accept it.

Singer Nick Jonas, who is currently in the middle of his Future Now tour with Demi Lovato, recently revealed that he was offered a substantial sum to perform at a free concert in Cleveland, Ohio on July 24th. It’s important to note that the concert was not labeled as a celebration of Donald Trump’s nomination, but rather a thank you to the city for hosting the Republican National Convention.

Either way, Jonas wasn’t interested, and according to TMZ turned down about $2 million from a private donor. It didn’t matter in the end, however, as Jonas wasn’t even going to be in town that night. He had previously agreed to be a part of a Roc Nation event in New York.

That same topic reared its head previously when the RNC approached singer Justin Bieber about performing at the convention. Bieber was reportedly offered $5 million dollars to perform, a number that is impressive even amongst music’s elite.

While Bieber did consider doing the concert, a combination of his Manager Scooter Braun’s stance on the Republican Party (he is well known as a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter) and the valued opinions of his band and Cleveland’s own Lebron James, swayed the singer to turn down the offer.
