Otto, who’s best known for her role as Eowyn in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, is pegged to play the wife of Annabelle’s creator. Scripted by Gary Dauberman, the film will again focus on the unbelievably creepy and possessed doll as she sets her eyes on new targets. Annabelle 2 will tell the story of the doll’s maker and his reclusive wife twenty years after their young daughter tragically dies. The couple welcomes a nun and several girls from a dilapidated orphanage to stay at their home, but soon, the visitors become prey to the dollmaker’s possessed toy, Annabelle.
Sigman, who starred in Spectre and American Crime, will be starring as the nun who’s in-charge of the orphaned girls under her care. While few other details about film have been released regarding its story, fans are already saying the horror film sounds as if it’ll live up to its predecessors’ success.
While casting for the film has had few updates, Warner Bros. and New Line did confirm that the film was slated for a release on May 19, 2017. While Annabelle director John Leonetti will not be returning to helm the sequel, David F. Sandberg has stepped in to direct Annabelle 2.
