Just weeks after Barry Manilow announced he had been diagnosed with Stage 1 lung cancer, the legendary singer has announced a slate of new and rescheduled tour dates.
“SURPRISE!!!” began an Instagram post from the 82-year-old singer. “Barry is feeling great…so great that he’s decided to add six additional concerts to his existing March schedule.”

Manilow will now be performing six new tour stops in Charlotte, Norfolk, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Nashville, and Lexington in addition to the Columbus, Charleston,
Orlando, Sunrise, Greensboro, and Jacksonville concerts that he rescheduled for March and April due to his health.
“Years from now, when you look back on these dates, you’ll want to know you were there to say goodbye,” Manilow’s Instagram post assured.
Just last month, the “Copacabana” singer took to social media to reveal he would be taking time away from performing for surgery to remove a “cancerous spot” on his left lung.
“As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks,” said Manilow at the time. “Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI to make sure that everything was OK.”
“The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed,” he continued. “It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That’s the good news.”

While the “bad news” was that Manilow would have to reschedule his January performances, the good news was the “Mandy” singer’s prognosis. “The doctors do not believe it was spread and I’m taking tests to confirm their diagnosis. So, that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns,” he wrote.
Despite the setback, Manilow wrote that he was “counting the days” until he can return to his “home away from home” at the Westgate Las Vegas for his Valentine’s Day weekend concerts, which he said would be “one big party!”
Artist presale for Manilow’s March dates begins Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. local time until Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10 p.m. local time, at which time local and partner presales open. All tickets will go on sale Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. local time.
