Cardi B seemed to deny the rumor that she plans on naming her next baby “Hurricane” in a post on X on Sunday. The pregnant rapper recently shared a sonogram image online, and a fan account re-posted it this weekend with the caption: “Cardi shares ultra sound pic of baby ‘Hurricane.’” Cardi B herself responded: “Who???”
Cardi shared her ultrasound image on Instagram on Sunday, admitting that she is impatient for this pregnancy to be over. She wrote: “I wanna meet my little boo boo soo badly already” with a wide-eyed emoji. She also included two photos of herself straddling a motorcycle with her baby bump on full display. Fans taking this journey with her were excited too, but it seems they’ve jumped the gun in guessing the baby’s name already.

It’s unclear where exactly this rumored name came from and how fans became so convinced that Cardi would be choosing it. The rapper shares two children with her ex-husband, fellow rapper Offset. Their daughter Kulture Kiari is 6 years old while their son Wave Set turns 3 years old this week. Cardi revealed that she is pregnant again on Aug. 1, and that very same day she announced her divorce from Offset.
Cardi and Offset have had plenty of ups and downs in their six years of marriage, including multiple allegations that Offset cheated on his wife and criticism of Cardi for taking him back. However, the former couple still seems to be cordial since breaking the news. They were both present for Wave’s birthday party this weekend, sharing pictures and videos on their Instagram Stories and not avoiding each other at all. Fans congratulated them on balancing their relationship with stability for their children.
Cardi B and Offset were both already public figures when their relationship began in February of 2017, though both have risen to new heights of stardom since then. They married in secret later that same year, and one of their most sensational moments followed not long after. During a performance on Saturday Night Live, Cardi simultaneously revealed that she was pregnant and that Offset had cheated on her, performing her song “Careful.” They worked things out at the time, and had one other close call with divorce in September of 2020 before reconciling.
There’s no telling what the future holds, and Cardi does not seem eager to share secrets like the name of her next baby. However, fans can usually count on her to break the news on social media whenever she is ready.
