Next week on RAW, Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns will fight for the opportunity to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship.
This came about when Angle opened a segment that invited Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman out for a little chat. The crowd erupted for the champion. It didn’t take long for the three men to start talking about SummerSlam and as soon as that subject was broached, out walks Roman Reigns.

Up Next: Did Roman Reigns Actually Turn Heel At Great Balls Of Fire?
Roman wasted no time in demanding that he deserves his chance against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. But Kurt Angle wasn’t so receptive as he quickly pointed out to Reigns’ attempted killing of Braun Stowman. Reigns defended himself by saying that someone had to do it and Brock Lesnar isn’t around to contribute much, so he took things into his own hands. He further argued his case by saying that Angle, Lesnar, and Heyman all have done worse things.
That’s debatable.
Either way, Samoa Joe’s music hits and he’s in on hell of a mood. He and Brock nearly come to blows and Heyman was quick to try to eliminate Joe from any further Universal Championship discussion. Joe snapped back saying that Heyman is terrified of him because he knows that The Beast can’t beat him again.
Roman interjected with a smirk, saying that Joe lost last night, so he should stop talking. Now, Joe locks onto Reigns and boom, Kurt Angle gives us our match for next week.
More: Former RAW GM Smitten Over Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar
This was an excellent performance by all parties – even Brock Lesnar got to speak! But it wasn’t the Universal Champion, or the Olympic Gold Medalist or the Big Dog or even the silver-tongued devil, Heyman, who stole this show – it was Samoa Joe.
Joe’s delivery and conviction were impeccable as he made us truly believe that he was capable of everything he was promising. What’s crazy, is that he lost last night and entered RAW the coldest of the three wrestlers. But now, consider him on fire. Do not rule him out next week.
A first guess puts Braun Stowman in the fray, costing Reigns his title shot. But that’s just the first option. This could turn into a fatal four way at SummerSlam. Joe, Reigns, and Strowman all could make viable cases as to why they should be fighting the Beast, but will WWE stick them all in one match? It’s impossible to tell now, we’ll just have to wait 7 days.
