Rhyno, aka Terry Gerin, has held more than a few championships in his wrestling career, but his most recent victory took place outside of the wrestling ring.
It was announced Tuesday that Gerin had won the GOP Primary for the 15th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives. Gerin, a native Michigander himself, announced he was going to run back in March and had the approval of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The district would include his hometown of Dearborn and won the Primary by a very close 54 votes.

Incumbent George Darany, a Democratic state representative, cannot run for reelection due to term limits and would Gerin will face the Democratic Primary winner, Abdullah Hammoud in November’s General Election. Should he win, it would be the first time a WWE Superstar on the active roster held a political position at the same time. Rhyno recently joined the SmackDown! Live roster this past week.
Other wrestling personalities that dabbled in politics are Jesse Ventura, who went on to serve as Governor of Minnesota, Linda McMahon who aimed for a seat in the United States Senate, and even Kane, who was considering running for Mayor in his residential home of Knox County, Tennessee.
