And, with just a few words, Teen Wolf fandom has just had their hearts broken. Why? Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis announced at San Diego Comic Con that the popular series would be ending with its upcoming sixth season.
Fans have been desperately trying to overlook the show’s death throes as numerous cast members have left the aging series. And, even before this news broke, fans were already aware that Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall was considering leaving Beacon Hills following graduation. Now, it seems like the show itself will be leaving instead.

Davis spoke about the cast’s reaction at the panel, saying, “I know we’re sad about it and it’s bittersweet but we’re so happy to be able to come to Comic-Con and share it with you guys.” Actress Holland Roden (Lydia Martin) also spoke up about the series’ end, saying, “I grew up with this gang of boys basically during my entire 20s…and it’s been the craziest ride. I probably wouldn’t be acting if it wasn’t for this show.”
Teen Wolf‘s sixth season will premiere on MTV this November, leaving the 20-episode stint to stand as the series’ final installment. As such, Teen Wolf will air its final episode in 2017, making its 100th episode its very last. Davis has said previously that the season will be “more high school-focused” as many of the show’s characters are prepping for graduation.
“They’re on the verge of graduation and it’s a big thing for them,” Davis explained. “It’s especially a big thing for Scott who is worried about how he can leave Beacon Hills: Is he going to be passing the mantle on to Liam who isn’t yet an alpha but desperately wants to start acting like one?” Fans should also know that Scott’s famous bromance with Stiles will return full-force next season as Dylan O’Brien officially signed back on for Teen Wolf‘s final season.
I mean, according to Entertainment Weekly, even Ian Bohen will be returning to the series as Peter because – clearly – that wolf doesn’t know how to die. At this point, fans are now starting to wonder who else could unexpectedly come back to celebrate Teen Wolf‘s successful run ahead of its final farewell.
