On September 12, the WWE reported that Vince McMahon was having to undergo surgery for an injury he sustained while training. The news broke just before Monday Night Raw was about to air on the USA network. The details of the injury were not revealed at the time, however, the report did mention that the 71-year-old WWE Chairman would be back at work on Wednesday.

According to the Wrestling Observer, “the story going around in the company is Vince suffered a torn quad while squatting.”

McMahon has prided himself on being in top physical form, and even at his age he has been able to stay completely shredded. Check out this clip of one of McMahon’s intense training session taken six years ago, he was 65-years-old at the time of this video!

As most WWE fans remember, this would not be the first time that McMahon suffered an awful injury to his quads. In all of WWE history, one of the most infamous moments was when the Chairman tore both of his quads when he angrily attempted to slide into the ring back in 2005 at Royal Rumble in a match between John Cena and Dave Bautista.

Check out the clip below of McMahon tearing both quads:

Luckily for McMahon, most of his role in the WWE is behind-the-scenes now, so he will still be able to contribute at work just like normal while recovering from this weight-lifting injury.

We wish Vince McMahon a speed recovery!
