For the forthcoming third season of Shondaland’s How To Get Away With Murder on ABC, the show has added multi-Grammy award winner and The Wiz Live! star Mary J. Blige who will be taking on a guest starring role.

The details surrounding her character for Season 3 are being kept under wraps at the moment. However, in an interview with Deadline‘s AwardsLine, Viola Davis stated that there will be “a new mystery,” in Season 3, “and it’s going to be presented very quickly in the first episode.” She also mentioned that the show’s creator Pete Nowalk “explores the relationships in a much deeper way” with the new mystery.

Most recently, Blige starred alongside Jason Mitchell, Jason Clarke, Garrett Hedlund, and Carey Mulligan in the Dee Rees-directed Mudbound. Earlier this year, she starred in The Wiz Live! on NBC. For her role as Evillene, Blige earned a Critics’ Choice TV Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series. Blige also made an appearance on ABC’s hit comedy black-ish in the Season 1 finale of the series.
