When a Texas mother gunned down her two daughters before being killed by the police last week, the sole survivor was her husband, Jason Sheats. After several days of understandable silence, the mourning father has broken his silence with a series of Facebook posts.
On Wednesday, he shared several posts including photos of him with his daughters, laughing and smiling at each other. Then, just moments later, he posted a Bible Verse, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me,” from Philippians.

The Facebook posts have received a number of kind comments from family, friends and strangers expressing their condolences and letting him know they are praying for him.
According to PEOPLE, authorities decided to give Sheats some space in the wake of his family’s deaths. Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said they gave him space at the scene because he was apparently in a lot of shock but he gave an in-depth interview with them on Tuesday.
“He has some support from his family,” Nehls said, adding that he also has faith. “He said he’s a Christian man.”
The daughters were shot last week when their mother called a family meeting before pulling a gun out and beginning the rampage. In a 911 call released, the family can be heard tragically begging for their lives.The girls were laid to rest in a private funeral, Daily Mail reports.
