Hollywood is mourning the death of revered actor Gene Wilder, who has passed away at the age of 83 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Wilder has touched the hearts of many and his co-workers and other Hollywood stars have taken to social media to share their tributes to the Willy Wonka actor.

Longtime creative partner Mel Brooks was quick to weigh in on the sad news, tweeting, “Gene Wilder-One of the truly great talents of our time. He blessed every film we did with his magic & he blessed me with his friendship.”

“I saw Blazing Saddles 7 times at the cinema with my school friends. George St. Cows outside. Gene Wilder you were a genius. Rest in Peace,” Russell Crowe wrote, referring to one of Wilder’s wildly popular films.

Crowe joined a slew of actors who were fans of Wilder’s work, expressing how much he’d touched their lives.
