Actress Kim McGuire, who played Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski in John Waters’ cult musical comedy Cry-Baby has died. She was sixty years old when she passed.

On Tuesday, Kim’s husband Gene Piotrowskysays that she became ill and was taken to a hospital in Florida, according to TMZ.

Kim McGuire was most known for her role alongside Johnny Depp as the boisterous and strange-looking Hatchet-Face in the 1990 film Cry-Baby. Her facial features with actually overly exaggerated with prosthetics and makeup for the part in the movie.

McGuire also made several appearances on TV shows such as Acting on Impulse, Serial Mom, Dream On, and On The Air. After her acting days, she went on to become an attorney.

The Divine Facebook page first relayed the news of McGuire’s death.

They shared a photo of McGuire from Cry-Baby was posted along with the caption: “Our dear friend Kim McGuire passed away today. Kim was best known for her role as Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski in John Waters’ cult film Cry-Baby. Rest In Peace Kim.

UPDATE: Family friend Suzy Hixson has set up a GoFundMe page: gofundme.com/2p3nudws All donations will be going towards Kim’s funeral costs and her husband Gene’s living expenses.”

McGuire’s friend, Suxy Hixson wrote on the GoFundMe page about McGuire: “What many people don’t know is Kim was accomplished in so many other feats as well. She flourished in theater and passed the BAR to become an attorney in multiple states…I am at a loss for words as to what Gene is currently feeling…Everyone who came in contact with Kim couldn’t help but smile.”
