This December, fans will finally see the Harry Potter franchise return to theaters. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will apparate into cinemas this December and introduce audiences to a slew of new characters. As such, Warner Bros. has released a handful of character posters for the newbies, and the colorful images give fans a close-up look at the witches, wizards, and muggles.

Entertainment Weekly unveiled the posters earlier today. The line-up features characters like Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Tine Goldstein (Katherine Waterson), Jacob Kowalski (Dan Folger), Seraphina Picquery (Carmen Ejogo), Queen Goldstein (Alison Sudol), Mary Lou Barebone (Samantha Morton), Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller), Gnarlak (Ron Perlman), Percival Graves (Colin Farrell). Most of the posters include knick-knacks which nod to the characters and their individual interests – and a very peculiar item can be seen behind Percival Graves. Fans can see a necklace bearing the Deathly Hallows symbol swinging behind the wizarding official. Of course, fans are wondering what connections the Director of Magical Security might have with the legendary items.

After all, one of the trailers for Fantastic Beasts showed Seraphina Picquery wonder aloud whether Gellert Grindlewald would turn his eye to America. If you’re not familiar with the character, Grindlewald is a notoriously dark wizard who used the Deathly Hallows symbol as his personal logo. In Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, fans learned the man was rapidly gaining power during in the 1920s which coincides with the setting for Fantastic Beasts.

Could Pervical Graves be a supporter of Grindlewald and his terrifying beliefs? It seems unlikely that the character is a fanatic theorist about the Deathly Hallows a la Xenophilius Lovegood. For now, fans will have to be satisfied with speculations until the film premieres later this year.

These aren’t the first images from Fantastic Beasts to debut, of course. The film debuted its official trailer earlier this summer at San Diego Comic Con and has since gifted fans with still images and television spots. And, earlier last week, Pottermore revealed the film’s theme and full soundtrack listing on its site.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter blockbusters. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
