In the South Shetland Islands of Chile, Google Earth picked up an image of what appears to be either a unique rock formation or what some believe may be a sea monster.
Back in April, a video was posted on YouTube of a strange object in the icy waters of the South Shetland Islands near Antarctica, according to WKRC. The curious object in the video is about 75 feet wide and 100 feet long and is causing a “massive disturbance in the ocean.”

Conspiracy theorists, such as Scott Waring of UFO Sighting Daily, have weighed in on what they believe the object could truly be. Waring believes that the object could be a Kraken. The Kraken is a mythical sea monster known for wreaking havoc on ships and drowning its passengers.
The YouTube user who posted the original video believes the object could be a Plesiosaur fin. “Others have speculated everything from Cthulhu, the Loch Ness Monster, an underwater UFO and a Megalodon shark, which lived 23 to 2.6 million years ago,” according to WKRC.
While some believe the image resembles an enormous creature, some are not convinced. Andrew David Thaler of Southern Fried Science says that it is likely a feature called “Sail Rock” which is around the same size as the object and is near the same position as the Google Earth image.
While the image does not give any definitive answer as to what the large object is, the intriguing photo has garnered a lot of speculation regarding the notion of the possibility of massive, undiscovered sea monsters.
