A couple celebrating 57 years of marriage decided to commemorate the occasion with a special photo shoot inspired by the movie The Notebook.

The photographer, Stacy Welch-Christ of Mary Evelyn Photography, told FOX59 that she had always wanted to do a photo shoot to highlight a “legacy” type couple. Welch-Christ has known the couple, Clemma and Sterling Elmore, for a while as they are her sister-in-law’s grandparents. Clemma and Sterling’s relationship was so inspiring and beautiful that Welch-Christ asked if the couple would do the photo shoot with her.

“Sweet as they are, they have lots of love to share, so this was a tribute to them and their love,” Welch-Christ stated.

The three of them chose to recreate classic moments from The Notebook because it’s a film that everyone loves, and is one of Clemma’s favorites. One of the photos even shows some of the love notes that Sterling has written to Clemma over the years.

When speaking about how much attention the photos have received, Welch-Christ said, “I think we are shocked, and at the same time we are so happy that this kind of attention is happening to such great people.”

Welch-Christ posted the photos on Facebook with the caption: “Loving each other for 57 years now and counting….’What God has Joined together’… These two very special people have left a Legacy that is pretty special. Please feel free to share this post, especially if you think this couple is the cutest! So sweet! They melt my heart.”
