Actors Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller, and Mike White will be teaming up for a new comedy from Sidney Kimmel Entertainment titled Brad’s Status. Pitt’s Plan B entertainment will produce with SKE and David Bernard.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Zoolander star Ben Stiller is in final negotiations to star in the project from the original screenplay penned by Mike White. The production for the upcoming movie is eyeing a September start, with Mike White also set to direct.

Here is the initial synopsis of the film via the press release obtained from Collider: “The film centers around Brad, who despite a good career and happy family, is obsessed with the better fortunes of his old friends from school. While escorting his son on an East Coast tour of colleges, Brad is forced to confront his friends and his feelings of failure – with hilarious and poignant results.”

Other work from Mike White includes writing the scripts for: Chuck and Larry starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James, Nacho Libre starring Jack Black, and The Good Girl starring Jennifer Aniston. White made his directorial debut with 2007 comedy Year of the Dog starring Molly Shannon and John C. Reilly. White’s most recent project – which he co-created, wrote, and directed – was the award winning HBO series Enlightened starring Oscar nominee Laura Dern.

Ben Stiller last starred in Zoolander 2 and recently completed production on Noah Baumbach’s The Meyerowitz Stories alongside co-stars Dustin Hoffman and Adam Sandler, according to Variety.

No word yet on when the movie will be coming to theaters.
