A source close to the situation told PEOPLE, “Judy has been asked to consult with those working with Angelina on divorce negotiations.” The source continued, “Judy and her firm have a long history of handling issues that have unfortunately garnered too much attention in the public eye, and she knows how to push towards resolutions that are swift and discreet.”
57-year-old Judy Smith has been the “fixer” for several high-profile cases involving celebrities such as Michael Vick, Paula Deen, and Monica Lewinsky. She currently owns one of the most reputable crisis management firms in the United States (Smith & Company), and is a producer on Scandal, which was influenced by her time as the deputy press secretary in the White House.
With the addition of Judy Smith, Angelina is crafting a dream team of lawyers and representatives to handle the narrative for her ongoing split from Pitt. The 41-year-old mother of six has also hired celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
Fight Club actor Brad Pitt has also revamped his squad as he recently added family law attorney Lance Spiegel to his legal team.
