The Australian National Maritime Museum has hired a rescue border collie named Bailey for a new job that only exists in our wildest dreams. Bailey's official job is to simply chase seagulls off the dock in Darling Harbour.

The pesky birds have been causing loads of trouble for the boats at the Pyrmont piers as they are constantly pooping all over the docked vessels. In order to combat the situation, the Maritime Museum hired Bailey as the "Assistant Director, Seagulls," and has charged the adorable dog with the duty of chasing the pests off the piers.

Bailey has been on the job for three months now, and the piers have seen a significant decrease in droppings, according to Pedestrian TV. Adrian Snelling, Bailey's handler and head of security for the museum, has stated that the former working dog has taken on the gig with superb enthusiasm.

"Normally when there are seagulls down here, he will spot them and I'll let him off the lead and I'll say, 'Bailey go'." Snelling stated. "He just automatically chases the birds. He's that eager, he just loves birds."

Apparently Bailey's eagerness has gotten the better of him on several occasions, and he has ended up accidentally going for a swim in the surrounding water. Luckily, Snelling has given the newest employee a special doggie life-jacket, which doubles as his official work uniform. "He wears a dog flotation device, the same as what any human would wear on a boat," Snelling mentioned.

When Bailey is not wearing his "work uniform," visitors are encouraged to say hello and to pet and scratch him. Also, when he isn't on shift, Bailey likes to sleep in the security control room and has been a "great moral booster" for the entire staff according to Mr. Snelling.
