Waring, 27, allegedly shot a 35-year-old man in the torso at the man’s home on the 2900 block of Babb street.

Costa Mesa Lt. Paul Beckman stated, “Apparently there had been a previous confrontation between [Waring] and the occupants of that residence earlier, and had returned.”

According to the Costa Mesa fire department the man is expected to survive after paramedics took him to Orange County Medical Center in Santa Ana.

In the aftermath of the crime, Waring did not offer himself peacefully to the authorities. The police mentioned that upon arrival at the house of the shooting, witnesses of the crime said that Waring had already fled the scene in a stolen BMW.

Once the stolen BMW was located about 8 hours later by police helicopters, Waring then tried to evade the authorities after crashing the SUV and attempting to escape on foot by hiding in a business near Fourth and Terminal streets.

“After a brief standoff, he surrendered without further incident to the Santa Ana police,” Costa Mesa police stated in a news release.

Waring was then booked into the Orange County Jail “on suspicion of attempted murder, vehicle theft, felony evading police, hit-and-run and assault and battery,” according to Los Angeles Times.

Waring is the son of Lauri Peterson who was on hit reality show Real Housewives Of Orange County. She left the show in 2008 to deal with issues concerning her son.

It sounds like Peterson and her son have a lot more drama to deal with now.
