The Twitterverse had a field day after New York Congressman Lee Zeldin called out 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick following the arrest of the man behind the recent New York City bombing.

Kaepernick, who started a silent protest against social injustice by kneeling during the national anthem, has made news headlines on a daily basis. But this time it was Zeldin's turn.

Zeldin's tweet quickly caught fire and Twitterers immediately began their roasting.

While Zeldin's tweet may have backfired, the good news is terror suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami is now behind bars.
