Well this was an epic fail. Alabama school Briarwood Christian decided to use Republican nominee Donald Trump's campaign slogan while playing predominantly African American school Fairfield High. Briarwood Christian has issued a formal apology for using the slogan.

There were also 'Trump the Tigers' signs throughout the stadium:

Briarwood Christian's formal apology (sent via e-mail to AL.com) addressed the signage and its implications head on:

Briarwood Christian School desires to publicly apologize for any understandable offense caused by the sign used during a recent football game. The message of the sign did not represent the school's deep commitment to biblical principles and values, nor did it reflect our commitment to honoring and respecting our guests. Our existing policies were not followed effectively and appropriate measures will be taken to correct this. Above all we desire to seek forgiveness of any who were offended.

The Fairfield Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin told AL.com that although no formal complaints have been made, a lot of the parents in attendance were not pleased:

No one has given (or) filed an official complaint, but I have heard from some of the parents who felt it was disrespectful and they were wondering the intent of the sign.

Social media posts from students at the game gave even more depth to the issue:

The school should not have taken a political stance like this at all. Even if it was a sign that was made right before the game, it should have been checked by a cheerleading coach or a football coach at the least.
