Mayim Bialik, star of Big Bang Theory, writes about a lot of things on her blog, Grok Nation. Her latest post is in honor of National Nude Day, where she shared her thoughts about nudity and how she addresses this issue with her children.

“I don’t want my kids to grow up afraid of their bodies,” said the mother of two according to Fox News. “I don’t want them to think of their body as something that is shameful or needs unnecessary protecting.”

Though she has no plans on joining a nudist colony, she does say that being nude “is freeing and awesome.” She also says that she respects other’s decision and understands the appeal of “returning your body to its nude natural liberated state.”

Though nudity is a controversial topic and makes many people uncomfortable, Bialik makes sure to talk to her children about nudity. She says that she emphasizes that her sons’ bodies are their own, and theirs alone.

“It’s also important to talk about our family’s notions of nudity while acknowledging that not everyone does what we do and that that’s okay too,” she wrote.
