While it can be super frustrating to see new celebrity moms showing off unrealistically fit figures mere weeks after pregnancy, some celeb mamas are providing a breath of fresh air by blatantly showing off the changes pregnancy brought to their bodies.
Any mom can tell you that pregnancy changes your body in many ways and that it’s no snap of the fingers to return to your original shape — if you even want to, that is.

More and more moms are embracing their postpartum bodies, giving them time to recover from what took nine months to grow — and that includes celebs like Chrissy Teigen, Jessie James Decker and Peta Murgatroyd.
Check out these powerful photos of celebrity moms showing off their post-baby body changes.
Jamie Otis
Earlier this week, Jamie Otis showed off her postpartum body just three days after giving birth to her and husband Doug Hehner’s daughter Henley Grace Hehner.
The Married at First Sight alum donned white “hospital undies” and a white tank top in an Instagram photo, posing with her arms folded behind her head.
“Outfit of the day…I share all the details in my insta story! Lol no but seriously, I love every bit of my postpartum body,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s truly amazing how my body helped create & carry an 8 lb 2 oz baby …. I’m feelin’ like I can conquer the WORLD after pushing her out. Women are SO much stronger than we give ourselves credit for.”
Jessie James Decker
Jessie James Decker has always been one to keep it real, and her postpartum body was no exception. When Instagram commenters were quick to compliment the country music crooner on her quick slimdown after having her and NFL hubby Eric Decker’s second child in 2015, she made sure she wasn’t giving her fans the wrong idea.
“I appreciate all of the sweet comments about how tiny I look after baby! But I don’t want to mislead any momm[ies] who just had babies and are stressing,” she wrote alongside a picture of her bare tummy.
Later, in 2016, the star showed off her “loose mommy skin” in a bikini photo.
Peta Murgatroyd
Even though Peta Murgatroyd returned to Dancing With the Stars just months after giving birth to her and then-fiance (now husband) Maks Chmerkovskiy’s son Shai, she was up front with fans about her body’s journey.
Shortly after giving birth, she shared a shirtless mirror selfie, revealing her post-baby belly.
“I took this photo 8 days post birth,” she wrote on Instagram. “I left the hospital looking 5 months pregnant. Many people think a woman should shrink right back to her pre-birth weight immediately. That is just not the truth for most. The female body is incredible and resilient, but healing and strengthening take time. Now it’s time for patience and hard work.”
On her 17th day postpartum, she shared a photo of herself back in the gym. “I cannot jump yet and still can’t run a mile, but the exercises I’ve planned out are a good start,” she wrote. “Honestly, the hardest part for me is getting my core strength back. Day 1 I couldn’t do a sit up, here’s day 17 and I’m doing 70+.”
“I definitely don’t have my 6 pack, and I still have excess skin and rolls on my belly, however I feel good. After all, slow and steady wins the race!”
Hilaria Baldwin
Two days after welcoming her and hubby Alec Baldwin’s son Rafael into the world in 2015, Hilaria Baldwin shared her shrinking baby bump in a mirror selfie on Instagram.
“I have been planning on doing post belly photos but didn’t know if I was gonna have the guts to actually follow through,” she wrote in the caption. “I believe it is important to accept and love our form after going through a bit of a battle bringing life into this world.”
Then, in 2016, Hilaria shared a post-baby photo just a single day after having her son Leonardo. “It always makes me a bit nervous to do something like this, but I feel that in the age of such strong body shaming, I want to do all that I can to normalize a real body and promote healthy self esteem,” she wrote.

Famous for her candid sense of humor, Chrissy Teigen has gotten real about her pregnancy many times. Nine months after giving birth to her and John Legend’s daughter, Luna, the supermodel tweeted a photo of the stretch marks on her thighs, captioning the photo “Whatevs.”
She followed that up with a tweet that read, “When I drink wine I say ‘whatevs,’ and sober Chrissy doesn’t like it.” Later she wrote, “I do not post stretchies for the praise. I post it because the wine also I like the pattern and they’re so soft.”
She once even told the TODAY Show that it’s easier for celebrity moms to lose the baby weight.
“Anyone in the public eye, we have all the help we could ever need to be able to shed everything. So I think people get this jaded sensation that everybody’s losing it so quickly, but we just happen to be the ones who are out there,” she said. “We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that’s normal, or like that’s realistic.”
In an essay for Glamour magazine, Teigen opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression.
“I would be in my dressing room, sitting in a robe, getting hair and makeup done, and a crew member would knock on the door and ask: ‘Chrissy, do you know the lyrics to this song?’ And I would lose it,” she admitted.
“Or ‘Chrissy, do you like these cat ears, or these panda hands?’ And I’d be like: ‘Whatever you want. I don’t care.’ They would leave. My eyes would well up and I would burst into tears,” she added.
“I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy. I blamed it on being tired and possibly growing out of the role: ‘Maybe I’m just not a goofy person anymore. Maybe I’m just supposed to be a mom,’” Teigen said.
“I’m speaking up now because I want people to know it can happen to anybody and I don’t want people who have it to feel embarrassed or to feel alone,” she wrote. “I also don’t want to pretend like I know everything about postpartum depression, because it can be different for everybody. But one thing I do know is that — for me — just merely being open about it helps.”
