And the Nashville baby boom continues. Rodney Atkins and wife, singer Rose Falcon Atkins, have announced that they will have their first baby together in December. Rose shared the news via Instagram over the Fourth of July holiday with the caption, "Happy Fourth of July! We are thrilled to announce our family is growing. Baby Atkins will arrive in December and we know @eatki is going to be the best big brother."
Elijah, who is Rodney's teenage son from a previous marriage, is sure to be the doting older brother to his little brother or sister. So what will it be for the happy family? The soon-to-be first-time mama posted an adorable snap of red knit baby booties, thanking everyone for the well wishes. However, no indication if boy or girl just yet.

The trend seems to be 'boy' with the many country music pregnancies as of late. With Jason Aldean and Tyler Hubbard going blue and Thomas Rhett expecting pink. Which has us wondering, will Atkins be echoing his own lyrics and 'cleaning his gun' if a little girl?
