The Big Foot debate has been stirred up once again after a blurry photo taken from a trail in the Upper Peninsula showed something that resembled the creature of legend.

The beast in the picture has black fur and long legs. You can't see its face or torso as it is hunched over.

On September 4, the intriguing photo was posted on the blog CryptoSighting. The snap sparked a heated debate as to whether the photo genuinely captured a sighting of the hairy monster made popular in American folklore.

CryptoSightings posted the photo with the caption: "U.P. Michigan Bigfoot Photo: Mystery Solved #bigfoot #sasquatch #Michigan."

However, the answer isn't what the Big Foot believers had hoped. After days of debate and extensive research, there was in fact another photo taken on the same trail only 13 minutes later that revealed that the possible Big Foot sighting was actually a bear.

While this photo may not have been the actual hairy monster of legend, there is a plethora of other unsolved U.P. sightings that may keep the debate alive, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Only one day after the aforementioned photo was taken, the Upper Peninsulva Bigfoot/Sasquatch Research Organization reported on Facebook that there was a sighting near the northern lower peninsula community of South Branch in Ogemaw County. A man driving through light fog around 7 a.m. reported seeing a "large figure" that he first thought was a man in a ghillie suit. However, because it is not hunting season, he realized this this occurrence could have been something of the sasquatch variety.
