‘A Dark Place’ Star Luke Baines Talks Stepping Into a ‘Very Different’ Role in Suspense Drama

Coldplay Covers 'Pure Imagination' In Honor Of Gene Wilder

After comedic legend Gene Wilder passed away on Sunday at the age of 83, Chris Martin and his band Coldplay paid tribute to the fallen star by performing a cover of the song "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The band posted a clip from the special moment on their Twitter page after the concert in Denver. In the brief video, lead singer Chris Martin sings, "Come with me and we'll be in a world of pure imagination" as multi-colored confetti comes raining down on top of the audience. After posting on Twitter, the clip has received more than 4k retweets and 7.5k favorites.

The original song was sung by Gene Wilder in the scene when the golden ticket winners first enter Willy Wonka's incredible, secretive chocolate factory. The scene instantly became a classic moment in Wilder's career.
