Who's Out?
Unfortunately for fans of Grey's Anatomy, there are quite a few faces on the way out the door this season.
Tessa Ferrer, who played Dr. Leah Murphy, is ending her second stint on the series. After leaving in Season 10, Ferrer returned last year as a recurring character, but she won't be back for Season 14.
Perhaps the biggest loss of the year will be Jerrika Hinton, who played Stephanie Edwards. Hinton wanted to take her career in a new direction after her four-year stint on Grey's, so she was written off in the Season 13 finale.
Also written off was the character of Eliza Minnick, played by Marika Dominczyk. Arizona's love interest was fired at the end of last season, so she won't be back this fall.
prevnextNew Additions
As previously mentioned, there are far fewer additions than departures this season.
In an odd move, it looks as though Owen's sister is actually alive. The character was originally played by Bridget Regan, who had to leave the show due to scheduling conflicts. However, it looks like the character will live after all, with Timeless star Abigail Spencer filling in for the role.
As far as brand new characters, there's only one coming into the fold this year.
Stefania Spampinato will be joining the cast as Carina, the sister of Andrew DeLuca. The character will be joining the hospital as a controversial new doctor.
prevnextFamiliar Faces
Most of the series regular characters will be back in Season 14, but a couple of characters that haven't been seen for some time will also show up in this installment.
Kim Raver is back as Teddy Altman this season. The veteran TV actress portrayed the character earlier on in the series, but left in Season 8.
Speaking of TV veterans, Glee's Matthew Morrison is coming back for another guest stint on the series.
Morrison plays Paul Stadler, Jo's abusive husband.
