Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten was in a horrific accident Sunday in the Olympic women’s road race. van Vleuten had a substantial lead when her bike slipped, flipping her over the handlebars. She had just six miles left on the course.

I’ve watched cycling for 25 years and never seen a wreck as awful as what a Dutch cyclist just suffered. Still no confirmation she survived.
