Two Minnesota sisters were found dead in their resort villa in Seychelles, a cluster of islands more than 900 miles off Africa’s east coast. The two were on vacation at the time. Robin Korkki, 42, and Annie Korkki, 38 were both found unresponsive in their hotel beds, according to authorities.

According to their brother Chris Korkki, the two sisters were “experienced foreign travelers.”

Hotel staff confirmed that the two sisters had been consuming alcohol all throughout the day on Sept. 22 and had to be helped to their room around 8:15pm, according to local newspaper Seychelles Nation. Medication was also found in their room, but the name of the medication has not yet been released by authorities.
Brother Chris Korkki told the Minnesota Star Tribune that he “just wants answers” at this time:
At this point, the only details we know are the articles flying around online. Two things keep going through my mind: This isn’t happening, and we just want answers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this tragic time.
