Earlier today, we discussed the five best comic characters who would be fantastic guests at your barbecue. As we were starting up the grill for the annual ComicBook.com Labor Day cookout, we started thinking about what TV and movie characters would also add some flavor to the party. Most of these characters don’t traditionally attend cookouts, but that doesn’t mean that they couldn’t cook a mean hamburger if asked. So without further ado, here’s five more characters who could handle all of your grilling and cooking needs at the last summer cookout of the year:

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen, the one true Queen of Westeros, would lend a regal atmosphere to any lowly cookout she attended. While Daenerys wouldn’t do much of the grilling herself, her capable handmaidens and serving staff would insist on handling all the cooking, mainly so an assassin doesn’t poison her food. If Daenerys is benevolent and takes a turn on the grill, she has a natural resistance to fire and heat so she could even save a hot dog if it slipped onto the charcoals below. If Daenerys does attend your party, keep a mindful eye on any Westeros dishes she brings with her. For example, if she offers you a Manderly pie, DON’T EAT IT! (If you only watch the Game of Thrones show, Google a Manderly pie at your own spoilery peril.)ย

The Doof Warrior

Better known as “The Crazy Flaming Guitar Guy” from Mad Max: Fury Road, the Doof Warrior provides the perfect soundtrack for any barbecue. The Doof Warrior would roll up to your house strapped to his giant speaker loaded rig, alerting your entire neighborhood that the party has finally arrived. Not only would he provide your cookout with a gnarly soundtrack, he could also quick sear some steak with his fire shooting guitar. Of course, if the Doof Warrior is at your party, the rest of the War Boys aren’t too far behind, so you’d better hide your water, oil, bullets and chrome spray paint. ย

Neelix

A resourceful cook on the USS Voyager, Neelix would add a level of ingenuity to any cookout he attends. While most spaceships used replicator technology to service most of their food needs, the Voyager’s limited resources required Neelix to handle most of the cooking on the starship’s seven year journey back to Earth, something the Talaxian chef attacked with gusto. Neelix would probably insist on handling most of the party planning in addition to the cooking in order to learn more about Earth cultures and traditions, which meant that you could just put your feet up and enjoy a beer while he does most of the hard work. While Neelix’s spread would probably include a dish or two from the Delta Quadrant, Neelix would eagerly prepare a full spread of Earth foods, although he may substitute a missing ingredient or two with whatever you have around your kitchen. ย

The Swedish Chef

If you want a Scandinavian theme to your Labor Day cookout, look no further than the Swedish Chef, the famous cook for the Muppets. Whether it’s a dish of reindeer and jam, a fancy fish recipe or old fashioned Swedish meatballs, the Swedish Chef will cook anything, often with unconventional means. If the Swedish Chef’s in charge of your grill, expect the cookout to escalate into a full-fledged battle between the Swedish Chef and his ingredients. And you might want to invest in a new house after the Swedish Chef’s done with it, considering he usually destroys whatever kitchen he works in. But as the Swedish Chef says “Yuoo cuan’t meke-a un oomelet veethuoot breekeeng a foo iggs, bork bork bork!”

Roadblock

While Roadblock’s best known for being the heavy machine gunner of the GI Joes, the buff and burly soldier’s true passion is cooking. Not only does Roadblock occasionally handle cooking duties at GI Joe’s headquarters, he also wrote several cookbooks and even hosted his own cooking show on television when the GI Joes temporarily disbanded. With Roadblock manning your grill, you can be sure that your hamburgers and hot dogs are safe from the likes of Cobra.

Honorable Mention: The Human Torch

C’mon, did you really think we would write TWO articles about cookoutsย and leave out the Human Torch, the ultimate human barbecue? ย Capable of hitting supernova temperatures, the Fantastic Four’s ultimate hothead is the perfect addition to any cookout you attend. ย Since Johnny has near perfect control of his pyrokinetic abilities, you won’t even need a grill. ย Just hand him a burger and step back as he shouts “Flame On!” and instantly cooks it to perfect temperatures. ย If your cookout goes into the evening, Johnny can even stand in as a fire to use to cook s’mores and marshmellows! Just watch out if Johnny brings the Thing as his “plus one”, as one of Johnny’s pranks could turn your cookout into a battleground. ย
