The Rock Officiates Surprise Wedding For Superfan

What can’t Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson do? This weekend at a press event for San Andreas, Johnson gave comedian and super fan Nick Mundy the surprise of a lifetime by officiating the wedding of Nick and his fiancé.

Mundy first met Johnson during an interview before Johnson’s Hercules premiered. The interview was intentionally awkward as the comedian-reporter asked oddball questions about Johnson. Once Johnson found out Mundy was actually a funny guy and huge fan, he requested that Mundy attend several other events including the Furious 7 press junket.

Mundy has started planning situational jokes for each encounter with Johnson which he pitches to Johnson’s team beforehand. This time around, at the San Andreas press junket, the team shut Mundy down, leaving him fairly upset. What Mundy didn’t know was that his family, fiance’s family, fiance, and Dwayne Johnson were all waiting downstairs to surprise Mundy.

Johnson got legally certified to wed the couple and the rest is history.

San Andreas hits theaters May 29.
