Orlando Bloom took his social media followers on a trip back to Middle Earth with a slew of behind-the-scenes photos from the making of Lord of the Rings.
To celebrate the 15th anniversary since the release of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first film in the series, the 39-year-old took to Instagram and Facebook to share more than a dozen pictures.

“15 years ago today, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ring hit theaters,” Bloom captioned the post on Facebook. “And the rest, as you know, is history.”
The throwback photos offer an in-depth look at the massively popular movies, and how director Peter Jackson and the production team brought the world that J.R.R. Tolkien created to the big screen.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy starred Bloom (Legolas), Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn/Strider), Ian McKellan (Gandalf), John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), Sean Bean (Boromir), Hugo Weaving (Elrond), Cate Blanchett (Galadriel), Dominic Monaghan (Meriadoc Brandybuck), Billy Boyd (Peregrin Took), and Liv Tyler (Arwen).
