Married at First Sight‘s Dough Hehner and Jamie Otis — who first got her career start on The Bachelor — have lost their baby at four months, PEOPLE reports.
The couple announced the news on Instagram Wednesday, with Otis sharing a somber post alongside a photo that read, “An angel opened up the book of life and wrote down my baby’s birth. Then she whispered as she closed the book, ‘He’s too beautiful for earth.’”

“Our Baby Hehner was just too beautiful for earth,” Otis wrote next to the photo. “I love him so much – ALWAYS will – and can’t wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us.”

Otis also took to Twitter to ask for prayers.

The couple, who met for the first time just before getting married on the show Married at First Sight, had confirmed that they were expecting only one week prior, sharing that their baby was due in December.
“Jamie is the strongest woman I know,” shared a close friend of the reality star. “And Doug has remained her rock through everything. Their love will get them through this.”
