After hackers leaked and posted nude photos of Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones, the FBI has joined the hunt in tracking down the criminals.

The photos and other personal info were retrieved from Jones’ cell phone and her iCloud account, and the FBI is currently developing a strategy to track down the person(s) responsible for posting the sensitive material on her website. Not only did the hackers post nude pics, but they also leaked Jones’ driver’s license, her passport, and posted a video of Harambe on the top of her website.

Because Leslie Jones splits time living in both New York and Los Angeles, it is unclear whether agents from the East Coast or West Coast will be launching the investigation, according to TMZ.

Apparently the NYPD and the LAPD are not on the case at the moment, so the investigation is being handled exclusively by the FBI for the time being.

Jones’ website has been taken down since the hack, and no one has claimed credit for the attack as of yet. Earlier this year, the veteran SNL actress felt forced to remove herself from Twitter temporarily after cyberbullying became so extremely overwhelming.

The 48-year-old star was also involved in a public social media feud with Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, which eventually led to him being banned by Twitter. According to The Wrap, many believe that the hack on Jones’ website was retribution by a Yiannopoulos fan.

Do you think the FBI needs to be involved in Leslie Jones’ computer hacking case?
