Tesla has made headlines on a regular basis with their astounding Model S, but one Dutch limo company is turning the electric vehicle in another direction.
Commissioned by Van der Lans & Busscher BV, Netherlands-based builder RemetzCar is transforming a normal Model S into the world’s first fully-electric hearse.

It was a difficult project that required the Model S to be partially disassembled and cut in half. The batteries had to be completely removed before the frame was stretched by about 31.5 inches in order to accommodate a casket.
But once the additions were made, RemetzCar put the Model S back together with a near-factory finish.
