Coca-Cola is honoring United States service members on Memorial Day with a special line of American flag themed cans.In addition to a special red, white and blue design, the cans also feature a lyric from the patriotic Lee Greenwood song “I’m Proud to be an American”, as part of Coca-Cola’s annual “Share a Coke” theme.
Coca-Cola launched the cans at yesterday’s Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race in conjunction with the USO’s new “Campaign to Connect” program, which is designed to show service members how much their fellow Americans appreciate the service.The cans feature the USO logo and have a URL directing visitors to a webpage where they can leave a message thanking service members for their work.The USO hopes to collect a million messages to service members, which will be displayed on TV screens at 180 USO locations around the United States. Coca-Cola and the USO have been partners for the USO’s entire 75 year history.
