Rumors surrounding the new iPhone 7 have been swirling ahead of Wednesday’s Apple event. But tomorrow, the newest iteration of the device that changed the world will be revealed. Here’s seven things we expect to see.

Goodbye Headphone Jack
Let’s just get this one out of the way. The 3.5 mm headphone jack will almost certainly be laid to rest, and the world will almost certainly be outraged. This means users will be forced to use one of several options for their listening needs: The Lightning connector, Bluetooth, or … a dongle. There, I said it – the dreadful “D” word. Hopefully this transition won’t be as painful as we’re all expecting.
New Earbuds
On a more positive note, it’s expected that Apple will be releasing some new earbuds, which is practically a necessity if the headphone jack is taken away. Their last version was a huge improvement from their particularly uncomfortable predecessors, and hopefully the new earbuds will be another step up.
Waterproofing
That’s right. Waterproofing. You can finally listen to music in the shower or be randomly shoved into a pool without fear of destroying your precious iPhone. While other smartphone manufacturers have already paved the way for waterproofing, it will be a welcome addition to the iPhone. Research confirms the iPhone 7 will be capable of being submerged under three feet of water for up to 30 minutes. So no SCUBA diving.
Faster, Thinner, and Lighter
Practically every new iPhone (and Apple device in general) is faster, thinner and lighter than the old one. So no surprises here. The iPhone 7 will be receiving a processor overhaul, likely the A10, but will still boast increased battery life (because nothing is worse than 10% battery). And thanks to the absence of the headphone jack it will be even thinner than before.
More Memory
Remember the days when 16GB of storage used to cut it? Neither do we. It took them a while, but Apple may finally be upgrading their base memory storage to 32GB, which means you can store even more cat videos on your iPhone 7 than before.
Dual Camera System
What’s better than one camera? Two, obviously. And that’s exactly what we expect to see from the iPhone 7 (but probably only the Plus model). This means photos and video will have increased depth, more vibrant colors, wide-angle views, better zoom effects and more.
Smarter Siri
Siri is getting an upgrade in the new iPhone 7. She may not be at Jarvis’ level yet, but with increased functionality like searching for images in Pinterest or hailing an Uber ride, she’s getting a little bit closer. And another cool Siri feature? You may not even need an internet connection.
