The officers said another good samaritan in the parking lot then got out of his car and shot one of the attackers dead, according to Louder With Crowder. The other attacker ran away, and the authorities are working to identify the second suspect.
The woman who was attacked were initially listed in critical condition, as well as the first man who attempted to help her. The woman has been released from the hospital while the man underwent surgery on Sunday night.
The second man, who fatally shot one of the suspects, has been identifed as a 36-year-old man from Desoto, Kansas. He was interviewed by the police about the incident and then released.
KMBC 9 News Kansas City posted the video on Facebook with the caption: “Shawnee police said a good Samaritan fatally shot a man who attacked a woman in the Walmart parking lot. That attacker also shot and wounded the first man who came to the woman’s aid.”
We commend the two good samaritans for their bravery, and we wish the victims of the attack a speedy recovery.
