According to Savannah Now, in the early morning hours of July 8, Savannah Metro law enforcement officers in Georgia arrested a male subject after he had become disorderly in City Market.
The “male subject” in question turned out to be LaBeouf.
Sometime around 4:00 a.m., the 31-year-old reportedly approached a bystander and police officer somewhere near the intersection of Barnard Street and West St. Julian Street. He is said to have been asking for a cigarette.
Neither the bystander nor the officer had a cigarette for him, and that is when LaBeouf reportedly became “disorderly.”
He was reported to be using profanities and inappropriate language in front of the women and children who were present.
The actor was instructed to vacate the premises but refused and became aggressive toward the police officer.
At this point, the police officer attempted to arrest LaBeouf, but he fled the scene and ran into a nearby hotel.
He was arrested in the lobby of the hotel, but it’s reported that his disorderly behavior continued even there.
Finally, LaBeouf was charged with “obstruction, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.”
His bond was said to be set at $7,000, and, at the time of the report, there was no word on if he remains in custody or not.
