Before she was knocked off her throne by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015, Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey was brimming with confidence, considered the #1 pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world, and preparing to parlay her fighting success into a full-fledged Hollywood career — landing the lead in a remake of Patrick Swayze’s 1989 action film Road House.
However, after getting knocked out by Holm, Rousey sustained physical and emotional injuries and took a step back from the limelight. The hope was that Rousey used that time away from the camera to add new skills, developed a better fighting strategy, and regain her killer-instinct.

Sadly, it only took defending champion Amanda Nunes 48-seconds to dismantle Rousey, who appeared a shell of her former self. Many were left wondering if her guaranteed $3 million payday was her only motivation for showing up.
